Body weight vs Body fat



I posed the question what's better, to lose body weight or body fat? Most of the time our minds are keyed into our weight. I believe a person could stay the same weight but be transformed physically by deleting or burning the fat.

To lose weight, you must cut your daily calorie intake so that the total is less than the daily calories you burn. But to burn fat you keep your daily calorie intake and up your activity. The body needs the calories to feed the muscles. The muscles burns excess calories into energy therefore not creating more body fat.

The body needs body fat to function and for protection, but excess body fat could hinder the body from doing it's job effectively thus creating health issues. Even while sitting your body could burn calories if it's not saturated in body fat, so that more muscle is defining the body rather than fat.
